Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Claude Code Notifier! These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Claude Code Notifier application for macOS ("the macOS App") and the Claude Code Notifier Companion applications for iOS and Android ("the Companion Apps"), collectively referred to as "the Apps". The Apps are provided by TouchTap Ltd ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using any of the Apps, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Apps.
1. Description of Service
Claude Code Notifier is a notification system designed to work with Claude Code (Anthropic's command-line interface tool). The service consists of:
- Claude Code Notifier (macOS): A menu bar application that monitors Claude Code sessions and delivers notifications when Claude requires user attention or permission approval.
- Claude Code Notifier Companion (iOS/Android): Mobile companion applications that receive notifications from your Mac and enable remote responses to Claude Code prompts.
- Cloud Relay Service: A server-side component that facilitates communication between your Mac and mobile devices.
2. License Grant
2.1 macOS Application
Subject to your compliance with these Terms and valid license purchase, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the macOS App on devices you own or control
- Use the macOS App for personal or commercial purposes in accordance with your license type
2.2 Companion Applications
The Companion Apps are provided free of charge. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the Companion Apps on your personal mobile devices
- Use the Companion Apps in conjunction with a licensed copy of the macOS App
2.3 Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Copy, modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the Apps
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Apps
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices in the Apps
- Distribute, sublicense, lease, rent, or lend the Apps to third parties
- Use the Apps in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
- Use the Apps to transmit malicious code or interfere with our services
- Circumvent any technological measures designed to control access to the Apps
3. Purchases and Licensing
3.1 macOS Application Purchase
The macOS App requires a valid license for continued use. Licenses are purchased through Gumroad and are subject to the following terms:
- A license key is provided upon purchase and must be entered in the application
- License verification requires an internet connection
- One license permits use on multiple devices you personally own or control
- Licenses are non-transferable and may not be shared with third parties
3.2 Refund Policy
Refund requests are handled in accordance with Gumroad's refund policies. If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, please contact us within 30 days of purchase for consideration of a refund.
3.3 Companion App In-App Purchases
The Companion Apps may offer optional in-app purchases to unlock additional features. These purchases are processed through:
- iOS: Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's Terms of Service
- Android: Google Play and are subject to Google Play's Terms of Service
All in-app purchase refunds are handled by Apple or Google respectively.
4. Account and Device Pairing
4.1 Device Pairing
To use mobile notifications, you must pair your mobile device with your Mac through the Apps. Pairing requires:
- A licensed copy of the macOS App
- The Companion App installed on your mobile device
- An internet connection on both devices
- Scanning a QR code or entering a pairing code
4.2 Pairing Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device pairings. You should:
- Only pair devices you personally own or control
- Revoke pairings for devices you no longer use or have lost
- Not share pairing codes with others
4.3 Revoking Pairings
You may revoke device pairings at any time through either the macOS App or the Companion Apps. Revoking a pairing will:
- Stop notifications from being sent to that device
- Remove the pairing record from our cloud service
- Delete any pending notifications for that pairing
5. Cloud Relay Service
5.1 Service Description
Our cloud relay service facilitates communication between your Mac and paired mobile devices. The service:
- Receives notification data from your Mac
- Delivers push notifications to your mobile devices
- Relays your responses back to your Mac
- Stores pending notifications temporarily (maximum 24 hours)
5.2 Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability of the cloud relay service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled maintenance
- Unplanned outages
- Network issues beyond our control
- Actions by third-party service providers
5.3 Service Modifications
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the cloud relay service at any time with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes.
6. Webhook Integrations
The macOS App allows you to configure webhooks to forward notifications to external services (such as Slack, Discord, or custom endpoints). By configuring webhooks, you acknowledge that:
- You are responsible for the security and privacy practices of the external services
- Notification data, including potentially sensitive project information, will be transmitted to those services
- We are not responsible for how external services handle your data
- You must comply with the terms of service of any external services you integrate
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of the Apps is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Apps, you consent to our data practices as described in the Privacy Policy.
7.1 Sensitive Information
Important: The Apps process information about your Claude Code sessions, including project paths, file names, and command context. If you work with sensitive, confidential, or proprietary information, you should carefully consider:
- Whether to enable mobile notifications (which transmit data through our cloud service)
- Whether to configure webhook integrations (which forward data to external services)
- Your organisation's policies regarding data transmission to third-party services
7.2 Data Retention
Session history on your Mac is retained according to your configured settings (default: 30 days). Notifications in our cloud service are automatically deleted after 24 hours.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our Intellectual Property
The Apps, including all content, features, functionality, designs, and documentation, are owned by TouchTap Ltd and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used without our prior written permission.
8.2 Third-Party Intellectual Property
"Claude" and "Claude Code" are trademarks of Anthropic, PBC. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Anthropic. The Apps are independent tools designed to work with Claude Code.
8.3 Feedback
If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Apps, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, modify, and incorporate such feedback into the Apps without any obligation to you.
9. Disclaimers
9.1 "As Is" Basis
THE APPS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
9.2 No Guarantee
We do not warrant that:
- The Apps will meet your specific requirements
- The Apps will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
- The results obtained from the Apps will be accurate or reliable
- Any errors in the Apps will be corrected
9.3 Third-Party Dependencies
The Apps depend on third-party services including Apple (APNs), Google (FCM), Cloudflare, and Gumroad. We are not responsible for the availability, reliability, or performance of these third-party services.
9.4 Claude Code Compatibility
The Apps are designed to work with Claude Code as of the date of release. We cannot guarantee compatibility with future versions of Claude Code. Changes to Claude Code by Anthropic may affect the functionality of the Apps.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TOUCHTAP LTD, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR:
- Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Any damages arising from your use or inability to use the Apps
- Any damages arising from unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
- Any damages exceeding the amount you paid for the Apps in the 12 months prior to the claim
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless TouchTap Ltd and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:
- Your use of the Apps
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your webhook configurations and any data transmitted to external services
12. Termination
12.1 Termination by You
You may stop using the Apps at any time by uninstalling them and revoking any device pairings.
12.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Apps or cloud services at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Reasons for termination may include:
- Violation of these Terms
- Suspected fraudulent or illegal activity
- Abuse of the cloud relay service
- Non-payment or license violations
12.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your license to use the Apps is immediately revoked
- You must uninstall all copies of the Apps
- We may delete your data from our cloud services
- Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive will continue to apply
13. Updates and Modifications
13.1 App Updates
We may release updates to the Apps from time to time. The macOS App includes automatic update functionality through Sparkle. You may configure update preferences in the application settings.
13.2 Terms Updates
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, through the Apps or by email. Your continued use of the Apps after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
14.1 Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
14.2 Dispute Resolution
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Apps shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14.3 Time Limitation
Any claim or cause of action arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Apps must be filed within one (1) year after such claim or cause of action arose, or be forever barred.
15. General Provisions
15.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TouchTap Ltd regarding the Apps and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
15.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
15.3 Waiver
No waiver of any term of these Terms shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or any other term. Our failure to assert any right or provision under these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.
15.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your rights hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms without restriction.
15.5 No Third-Party Beneficiaries
These Terms do not create any third-party beneficiary rights in any individual or entity.

17. Additional Terms for App Stores
17.1 Apple App Store (iOS)
If you downloaded the Companion App from Apple's App Store, you acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and TouchTap Ltd, not Apple
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
- Apple is not responsible for any product warranties or claims
- Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them
17.2 Google Play (Android)
If you downloaded the Companion App from Google Play, you acknowledge that:
- These Terms are between you and TouchTap Ltd, not Google
- Google has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App
- Google is not responsible for any product warranties or claims
